About Me

I have played drums since around age 10 when I began playing with my father's jazz combo. My father is a professional jazz saxophonist hailing from New Jersey and Director of Jazz studies at the University of Arkansas Fort Smith. He has had the opportunity to play with a variety of big names ranging from The Temptations to the Stan Kenton Big Band. Since then, I've played with a litany of groups encompassing virtually every genre from broadway-style musicals to death metal shows. Currently I play shows with Linnie Hice, a great guitarist originally from the Nashville area, who in 2006, won first place in Guitar Center's "Hell on the Border" shred off competition. The Linnie Hice Band, as it is known, currently plays Casinos and high-end clubs as well as a few private parties around the southeast region. I also play in a side project with Heath Wright, the lead singer of the nationally-acclaimed country group Ricochet. Ricochet has garnered several gold records and chart topping hits as well as being proclaimed "Vocal Group of the Year" at the Country Music Awards. I have also served as the drummer for the award winning UAFS Jazz Catz. The Jazz Catz have performed all over the United States, including at the North Texas Jazz Festival where in 2008, they received top honors as the most outstanding vocal group. I have served as the studio drummer for various recording establishments around the region. Some of my studio tracks have been heard on the Miss America Pageant. I also laid down drum tracks for Josef Hedinger, a pop singer with several highly-acclaimed songs as well as a number hit, "About Bein' Alone" in Europe. Currently my wife Kacie and I serve as substitute teachers for the Jinx School district. I am in search of colleges around the Tulsa area where I can finish my degree. I am also in search of musicians with whom I can play and avenues through which I can continue teaching music.

Performing Experience:

I have played drums since around age 10 when I began playing with my father's jazz combo. My father, Don Bailey is a professional jazz saxophonist hailing from New Jersey and Director of Jazz studies at the University of Arkansas Fort Smith. He has had the opportunity to play with a variety of big names ranging from The Temptations to the Stan Kenton Big Band. Since then, I've played with a litany of groups encompassing virtually every genre from broadway-style musicals to death metal shows. I also have laid down drum tracks for Josef Hedinger, an up-and-coming pop singer with several highly-acclaimed songs as well as a number hit, "About Bein' Alone" which was broadcast on Europe's version of "So You Think You Can Dance?"

Experience Teaching:

I have been teaching private lessons for approximately the last 5 years. The past couple years I have also been teaching out of Southtown Music in Ft. Smith AR. Having just moved to Tulsa, I am searching for musicians to play with as well as an avenue through which I can continue teaching. This is why I am interested in teaching through Taylor Robinson Music.
