Larone M

Larone, better known by his stage name “Skeeter” is a self-taught musician that comes from a heavy musically inclined family.  He has been playing the drums his entire life from infancy to adulthood.  Upon graduating from high school, Larone received tuition scholarships to Berklee College of Music, Hart School of Music, University of Massachusetts, and the University of Miami.  After much thought and contemplation, he decided not to attend college because he was fast on his feet touring and performing by the time he graduated from high school.  He grew up playing in church, which caused him to have a strong gospel influenced background that eventually led to heavy soul, R&B, and hip hop attractions.  After years of practice, playing, determination, and drive, Larone is now skilled in playing every type of genre of music authentically from pop, R&B, rock, jazz, fusion, hip hop, gospel and even country.   The first major artist Larone played for after high school was the young pop singer JoJo.  Playing for JoJo then transitioned him into joining a pop/rock band called The Last Goodnight and from there he started touring the world which made him extremely diverse from what he use too.  He was out of his element but he never missed a beat.  Since then, he has performed and toured with JoJo, Jennifer Hudson, Jazmine Sullivan, Nicki Minaj, Ludacris, Fantasia, Javier Colon, Chrisette Michelle, Carl Thomas, Ginuwine, Montell Jordan, Case, The Last Goodnight, and many other artist.  Playing for many of these world renowned artist has gave him the opportunity to make several television appearances on shows like David Letterman, Jay Leno, Regis and Kelly, The Today Show, Good Morning America, CD USA, AOL Sessions, MTV’s TRL, and BET’s 106 & Park.  He has also appeared in music videos and played on plenty major and indie projects.   Larone has had many other musical opportunities such as becoming a full time employee at one point and now per diem drummer at the world famous Apollo Theater.  He is also a first call drummer for American Idol musical director Ray Chew.  He extends far beyond just drumming.  He is a producer and live arranger experienced in programming.  He has taught himself many different tools in music to only become greater.
