What to expect in my Vocal Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced

........................................................................................................................ The time taught in each lesson never last more than 60 minutes. I always start it with 15-20 minutes of breathing and vocal exercises and 45-40 minutes of practicing repertoire. Sometimes, after the breathing and vocalization exercises, the focus of the class is the diction and study of interpretation of the song(s) only. But the time of use in the class may vary with the level of experience and the amount of training the singer has.

Experience Teaching:

...................................................................................................................... I started giving lessons while I was doing my master's degree at the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico. I helped students (between the ages of 19-35 years old) from my vocal teacher study; José R. Torres Hernández. I've helped them with art songs, arias and some zarzuelas repertoire. I also gave some seminars as part of my MA practice in there. Today, I'm still giving some private lessons while I'm working in some music projects." The time I've spend giving this classes and coaching during my MA practice at the CMPR have been the most wonderful time in there, as I felt too much satisfaction every time the students achieved goals in their singing practice. I've recently moved to Tampa, Florida looking for some opportunities to grow up more in the art of singing. The experience I can share and at the same time acquire while giving singing lessons could be the path to continue developing my teaching skills while creating a challenging and fun learning environment for students by helping them to achieve demanding goals that an artistic career required. My future goals are to be an inspiration for the young artists that are starting to raise in this music world as I follow up with my career as singer. NOTE: Classes are given in spanish language.

Vanessa

I hereby recommend Miss. Vanessa work at your school. Vanessa was my student/assistant at the University of Puerto Rico Opera Workshop for 5 years. Afther that she came to the Conservatory of Music where while she completed her masters degree she was also my assistant coaching students in diction, body movement and vocal technique. From the beginning she showed an exceptional talent, not only as a singer but also teaching. Vanessa has excelled in various productions, where she, besides sing would work in the development of the full presentation taking charge of the cast to keep them organized and focused during performances. She also sang full productions and scenes from different operas and Spanish zarzuelas. Some titles and roles among them are Julietta in “Les Contes D’Hoffmann, The Queen in “La Corte de Farahon, Carmen in “Carmen” Romeo in "I Capuletti e I Montecchi", Dorabella in "Cosi fan Tutte" and Antonelli in "Dúo de la Africana". At the professional level, she’s been part of the chorus in all of Puerto Rico’s lyric companies and had the oportunity to sing the role of Kate Pinkerton in South Caroline with European Lyric Theatre. Vanessa is a very responsible person with a natural teaching intuition that allows her to be a very good asset to any teaching program. She always comes well prepared and gives her most every time sharing genuinely with the rest of the persons she works with helping always her piers to improve their work. I highly recommend Vanessa for your School, she is a very intelligent young person with a genuine potential to become a very important part of your staff.
