Review About Me
Burt is a composer, pianist and arranger who teaches piano. He majored in composition at Cal State San Bernardino, studying classical piano, music theory, ethnic music and electronic composition for both analogue and digital media. In addition to classical music, Burt has performed in rock groups and jazz ensembles. He has studied piano performance styles with specialists in different musical genres. Burt has recorded commercially with the vocal ensemble Meritage (50 most loved Christmas Carols). Burt has also sung with some of the finest choral groups in Southern California and was music director/arranger for The Teaching of the Inner Christ church in Long Beach, Ca. for ten years. Burt has written and recorded his songs and music for a variety of instrumental ensembles including choir. Burt did the original music and sound design (including voice-over work) for Minimation animated features. He produces his own music using a combination of live and digital instruments. You can hear this fusion of ambient and orchestral music on his CD Meditation, volumes one and two and Atalanta Fugiens.

Students' lessons are tailored to individual needs based on skill level, personal interests and suggestions from the instructor. Private Education:
I have studied piano performance styles with specialists in the different musical genres. A specialty of mine is having studied and lectured on the role of music in ancient and modern religion and spiritual practice, from the teachings of Pythagoras, Christian monastic tradition, western and eastern alchemical tradition, and the Fourth Way teachings of Gurdieff, Moravieff, and Ouspensky.
Performing Experience:
I perform event music for weddings, parties, theaters, etc. for twenty years, and have performed in rock groups, jazz ensembles, solo and in duets with singers, violinists, guitarists, etc. I accompanied and directed a church choir for ten years and have sung in large choirs for most of my life, and sung in venues throughout the United States, Europe and the Middle East, including the Vatican and Jerusalem.
Experience Teaching:
I have been teaching piano for about twenty years on independently nd with the music studios. My experience covers both private and group piano classes of up to fourteen students and students from age four to age eighty-something.
