Rick Ri-

My name is Rick, originally from Southern California. I have been involved in music for at least 50 of my 55 years. 

I was singing before I was walking I've been told and grew up singing in the Church of Christ which is a non instrumental denomination.  I've taught song leading since I was in my early 30's and have been the head songleader in many congregations throughout the years. 

I majored in vocal music through all of my schooling and picked up the guitar in 10th grade.  Although I could read music, my guitar instruction was mostly self taught by ear with some beginning instruction and the collaboration of colleagues along the way.  I've taught beginner to intermediate guitar since I was 18 years old and taught vocal harmony since my early 20's. 

I am a singer/song writer/composer that has remained in the alternative, pop, soft rock, 70's rock, ballads, to folk and country genres.  I've played in a host of bands throughout the years, the last one being the Ranch Rockers out of Temecula, California in 2008.  I've mentored and tutored students and protege's in all aspects of my life, being a life coach, entrepreneurial coach, instructor, spiritual advisor, personal development coach, etc.

I have a pleasant, even tempered personality and have a lot of patience.  I have great respect for those that wish to truly learn how to play or sing music and demand respect when giving instruction.  It is one of my greatest joys to see my students go beyond my teaching and flourish into the artists they dreamed of becoming.  To see the face of progress in a student is to see a person breaking through the beariers they never thought they could break through, giving them the confidence to continue that growth to each level of expertise.
