My name is Jon S., I'm a pianist and teacher here in Baton Rouge. I've been playing for about 30 years now and have spent the last 15 years teaching private piano lessons. In order to achieve this my students are typically working on a fairly balanced combination of repertoire from different genres and time periods. I am very open to teaching students songs in whatever genres they enjoy and want to be learning in, but the key for me is finding a balance between teaching what the student wants to learn along with songs/exercises from any and all other genres that I think will help improve their technique, expand their musical horizons and improve their overall knowledge and ability. Whether it's Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Jazz, Blues or Coldplay, I love it all and am game to help you learn.
