What to expect in my Guitar Lessons
A normal first lesson would involve learning chords, learning to read tabliture and music, as well as exploring songs that would be accepted and enjoyed by the student. A follow up lesson would check students growth on their repertoire and practice, introduce new concepts for practice, and introduce new repertoire-usually chosen by the student. Lessons will include music theory, guitar pedagogy and traditional study, with the bulk of work depending on the students interest. The amount of theory vs song learning will depend on the student and their specific goals. Rock/pop guitar beginners would be my forte as I have the most experience with rock guitar styles and have taken many students from beginner to beyond competent by learning and practicing songs with only minimal theory and study involved, the bulk of the time was spent jamming. Improvisation and songwriting skills may also be introduced based on the students desired outcomes and enjoyment.
What to expect in my Vocal Lessons
A first lesson would include vocal warm ups, beginning diaphragm pedagogy (breathing,) a student chosen piece to be worked on, and then an evaluation. At this point I would create a personal curriculum based on students desired goals and interest. Following lessons would include vocal pedagogy heavy on technique and theory. The basics will begin in a classical style and branch out based on student interest asap. I personally prefer rock and pop styles, although I was trained in college focusing entirely on classical styles so this heavily influences my own vocal and teaching style.

Robert showed me that anyone can sing.
I have never been comfortable with my singing voice. I had never practiced in my life, aside from car/shower singing, and I knew it was bad. After just a couple of lessons, Robert gave me an entirely new point of view. Even though I still have a long way to go, I'm actually singing for the first time in my life. I'm so excited to continue with him, and I would highly recommend anyone, even if you don't think you have what it takes, to work with him. Nicklaus Czarnecki wrote on Tue, 31 Oct 2017
