After graduating in 2015 with a Bachelor's in Music studying viola at Northern Illinois University. While attending Northern, I had the opportunity to give guitar lessons to a couple of fellow students. Since July of this year, I have been a guitar instructor at School of Rock in Libertyville, teaching beginning students ranging from ages 8-12. Since taking guitar lessons at six years old, I have progressed into learning the attributes of music theory beginning with AP music theory as a senior in high school. At Northern, I further cemented these skills under the tutelage of acclaimed professors, studying music theory, aural skills, piano, and orchestral playing. For four years, I studied viola with Anthony Devroye of the nationally-renowned Avalon String Quartet. 3. Performing Experience: As an accomplished rock musician in a high school band called "The Warning Label", I performed as a finalist in the Illinois State Battle of the Bands competition through that competition, we won a full-length time slot at the Skokie Backlot Bash that summer. After picking up the viola as a sophomore in high school, I was selected through a formal audition out of a jury to play in the prestigious IMEA All-District Orchestra. Other performance opportunities include weddings, dinners at the Brauhaus Chicago, graduation ceremonies, and private social events. I would love to bring to Taylor Robinson Music Lessons my instruction incorporating passion, personality, and an honest drive to educate music. It would be a great opportunity to become a part of this community. Along with my music skills, I can engage students with a positive, friendly attitude towards teaching music.
