Passionate, creative, hard-working musician with experience in music therapy, music education, and customer service based in the foothills of Colorado. I facilitate spaces in which the healing power of music can shape and transform client’s lives, providing a means for creative, emotional, and social expression. With over 10 years of performance experience and a degree from Berklee College of Music, I bring a dedication to mastery and artistic development to all of my students. Using a person-centered approach, I am flexible in my teaching style and aim to support the arising needs of students. I have experience teaching flute, ukulele, guitar, piano, voice, and drums, with people ranging from 4-80 years of age.

I teach with a person-centered approach. What are your goals as a musician? What genres and styles are you looking to cultivate mastery in? Are you seeking performance opportunities? I have 2 years of experience teaching children and adolescents basic technique, repertoire expansion, and artist development. I seek to cultivate strong bonds between a person and their expression, empowering people to thrive technically as well as artistically. I have experience teaching beginner/intermediate guitar technique, pop, rock, country, folk, and songwriting for guitar.
What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons
Students can expect to cultivate a comprehensive understanding of basic piano technique, scales, chord progressions, and to work through materials to be agreed upon between the student and teacher. I aim to support a student's growth in relation to their instrument, practice style, and expression. I specialize in teaching young children between the ages of 2-12, but am happy to instruct anyone who thinks I would be a good fit. Additionally, I have experience working with students who have special needs.
What to expect in my Vocal Lessons
I aim to teach students how to use their voices expressively with proper understanding of vocal technique. Students will learn a variety of warm-ups, exercises, and techniques to achieve a desired sound. I will work with students to accomplish agreed upon goals including technical, performance, and artistic/creative development. Additionally, students have the option learn to read music, sight sing, learn about music theory and harmony, and to cultivate skill in singing and playing a desired instrument at the same time guitar, ukulele, drums, piano, etc..
What to expect in my Song Writing Lessons
I aim to support students in the lyrical, harmonic, and melodic structures of songwriting. Having studied with some of Berklee College of Music's esteemed songwriting teachers, I help students learn about the foundations of good songwriting. Students can expect to keep a journal, participate in writing activities, study popular songwriting form, select agreed upon songwriters to study, and to cultivate mastery in the use of prosody relationship between form and content. I can also provide assistance with arranging, band development, artist development, and social media management.
What to expect in my Orchestral Lessons
Having over 15 years of experience playing the flute, I have a depth and breadth of experience in flute performance. Spanning orchestral, jazz, rock, blues, pop, Celtic, Native American, and Brazilian idioms, I aim to help students cultivate a strong relationship with their instrument. Students can expect to work on healthy practice rituals, technique, tone production, body awareness, scales, modes, improvisational practice, repertoire, performance coaching, and agreed upon learning materials.
