Hello, my name is Maxwell ! I am new to the teaching experience, but I'm always up for something new and up for the challenge this would bring! From figuring out how each student is able to take in information, and having myself stay on top of my own kind of practicing, this would a great learning experience for the both of us. I am a very easy going teacher with anyone new and always want to make sure the student is comfortable in what content I'll be giving them. I will be giving them homework that I will expect them have practiced for the next time that I see them. When it comes to interacting with others, it doesn't take me long to become comfortable with students or anyone for that matter. I will always try to make the best out of any situation!

What to expect in my Drum Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate
Not every lesson will have the student on the kit itself. I believe when learning drums, you need to also have the basics down; from rudiments, their ability to read music, and even syncopation. I will start any student off on how well they are at these types of things and go from there. I will be giving them homework from time to time to help discipline the student; and I will expect them to have at least looked at it the next time I do see them.
Formal Education:
I attended UNI for about a year from Fall of 2016-17 for my BA in Instrumental Performance. I am now attending Des Moines Area Community College to finish out my liberal arts. In the coming years, I will be on my way to Full Sail University in Florida to get my Undergrad in Music Production.
Private Education:
I wasn't to really afford private lessons; so I am completely self taught in all the instruments I play.
Performing Experience:
I have a very broad performance history; from marching on the field in the drumline, to playing in the pit for my schools or even local musicals. For my whole 8 years of drumming, I've always tried to perform in every way possible. I've played in: Concert Bands (UNI & Ankeny Centennial) Jazz Bands (UNI Jazz II & Ankeny Centennial I) Pep Bands (UNI Pep Band & Ankeny Centennial) Marching Band (Ankeny Centennial Drumline) Show Bands (Ankeny Centennial Show Choirs)
