What to expect in my Song Writing Lessons
I break down the fundamentals of music and show a variety of ways to compile ideas and expressions. I try to take the creativity inside someone and help it flourish by explaining the basic formulas behind why certain musics become well known by either its impressionistic statement or its catchy rhythm.
What to expect in my Guitar Lessons
Expect me to be different than the typical tutor. I don't teach a specific style. I teach expression with guitar as the tool. In the end my students can play any style they desire. Music is very personal, specific, and vast so I tend to move at the pace of the student in the direction that interests the student most. My curriculum is broken down into three tiers; rudiments, core, and advanced. I make learning fun by making associations that pertain to the interests of the student, for an excited student overcomes the first and greatest hurdle of learning an instrument...muscle memory. Teaching the body to do what the brain wants and/or the heart feels; is the absolute goal in mind when I teach anyone music. The most important point is that the student is relaxed, has fun while learning. Anxiety is the greatest destroyer of progress for it leads to mistakes and failure to retain information which leads to frustration. As for core to advanced students; i move as fast as is needed to keep the interests high and the willingness to practice as much as possible.
