Hi! my name is Jonathan, I am 27 years old and I am very passionate about music and teaching music. I went to McClennan Community College and studied under some of Waco's finest musicians. I have taught at guitar center and also privately for the last couple of years. I am now a Fireman and doing teaching on the side, so this seemed like a great way to continue teaching with my schedule. I've played for a few local bands including Station Creek, Huser Brother Band, and Cross Town Traffic. I play Guitar, Piano and Bass. But when I teach I like to push music theory so that my student can understand music first and apply it to any instrument or song, rather than just learning some chords and their favorite song.

Beginner - Intermediate
We first cover the basics of the piano and the notes and the relationship of theory and the knowledge of chords to how we play music. Then the student will pick a song of their choice to learn, both how to read music, and how to count and learn songs quickly. More advanced lessons we talk about chord inversions and in depth rhythms and how to read them.
What to expect in my Bass Guitar Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate
Learning the basics about music theory and how that applies to the bass guitar and to the songs we play. Learning about the bass guitar, the parts, the notes and so on. Then learning a song of the students choice while we also cover chord tones, scales and how to think about bass lines and of course reading music.
What to expect in my Guitar Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate
With and emphasis on theory we will learn about how music works, the parts of your guitar, the notes on the guitar, and then begin working on the song of the students choice along with reading music, chord and scale exercises, strumming patterns etc.
