About Me

Dwayne is a percussionist, arranger, and composer from Charlotte, North Carolina. As a child, he was heavily influenced by rhythm and blues, gospel, hip-hop and jazz; which developed his passion for music. Talented and skilled; his natural ear for the interpretation of rhythm and patterns gave him a distinctive ability to play the drums. He has shared the stage with hip-hop artist Jhordan Parry, Rapsody, grammy award winning producer;9th Wonder, grammy award winning saxophonist Branford Marsalis, and grammy nominated jazz percussionist; Joe Chambers. has opened up for artist such as; Maceo Parker, Ludacris, Donald Lawrence and several others. received his bachelor’s degree in Music Business from Winston-Salem State University. Continuing to strengthen his craft while completing his bachelor’s degree, he also led as a percussion captain of the WSSU drumline in the marching band; known as the Red Sea of Sound. received his graduate degree at North Carolina Central University receiving his master’s degree in Jazz Studies in Performance. has been an avid Middle School Band Director at Lowe’s Grove as well as the drum instructor for Hillside High School where his priority was the empowerment of his students to strive and build their talented abilities.

What to expect in my Vocal Lessons

Beginner -

To be able to play all styles and genres requested with authenticity as desired. Students will also enjoy history and a wealth of knowledge that will expand their musical abilities and propel them forward in any direction they so choose. Sight ear training will be cornerstone of their training in order to develop great pitch and practice methods.


What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate

To be able to play all styles and genres requested with authenticity as desired. Students will also enjoy history and a wealth of knowledge that will expand their musical abilities and propel them forward in any direction they so choose. Scales will be a cornerstone in order to understand key signatures and relationships for chord progressions.


What to expect in my Drum Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate

To be able to play all styles and genres requested with authenticity as desired. Students will also enjoy history and a wealth of knowledge that will expand their musical abilities and propel them forward in any direction they so choose. Scales and progressions will be the foundation of our training on the bass and will aid in understanding of music desired to play.


What to expect in my Bass Guitar Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced

To be able to play all styles and genres requested with authenticity as desired. Students will also enjoy history and a wealth of knowledge that will expand their musical abilities and propel them forward in any direction they so choose. Rudiments will be the foundation of our training as they will expand their music abilities.
