I love what I do. Music has been my life ever since I was a child. I have dedicated many joyous years to the arts of songwriting/performance and recording. I specialize in Vocal training, acoustic and electric Guitar, bass, songwriting, live performance, and beginner drums. My teaching methods are unique in that I give my students the opportunity to learn their desired craft in an actual recording studio environment. I have many different teaching methods, one being that I use software that allows my students to learn while hearing themselves in a full band environment. It gives them confidence and the skills they will need to play with other musicians and not only that, it gives them the motivation to work hard because they immediately start hearing the benefits of what they sound like fulfilling their roll in a band/group setting. I make learning fun by being very hands on. For my drum students, I have a full-size adult kit ready for my students to learn by mirroring what I play in real time, also using software to help my students learn difficult sections by looping parts piece by piece. Guitar and Bass students are able to learn in a band setting with Guitar Pro software and real amps and stage gear here in the studio. My goal has always been to develop great artists, so I can make my mark on the world by helping the next generation of musicians write the great songs that will be heard for many years to come.

What to expect in my Record Engineer Produce
Beginner -
I teach audio engineering, and all microphone technique using PROTOOLS software. I navigate all my lessons with Protools for recording, and I always show my students first, how to properly use preamps, compressors and EQ.
What to expect in my Song Writing Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate
This is what I do. I make my living from songwriting and music lessons. Songwriting is about understanding melody and song structure. There are many tricks and tools I teach on how to write a well structured song. It all begins with the student understanding melody first.
What to expect in my Vocal Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced
Vocals is the most difficult instrument. That is because it can't be tuned with metal components. Vocal chords can't be replaced with metal strings. First is understanding how to use and preserve the voice. I teach breathing, proper technique, how to emote, how to perform live, and of course pitch and tone. Vocals take time to learn, I recommend a minimum of 6 months of lessons to actually benefit from vocal lessons. This is by far my favorite skill to teach. I teach my students form and pitch from day 1. We will do lots of warm-ups every lesson. As we get lessons under our belts, I stick them in the studio with headphones and recording software to start learning how to be a recording artist. This is key to vocal development. Hearing yourself in the studio.
What to expect in my Drum Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced
I teach beginner drums. Most of my students are under the age of 16 for drums. We do a lot of monkey see monkey do with drums. It is a physical instrument and timing is everything. We play to a click track and a full on band recording of the students choice to learn how to fill the pocket as well as fill the roll as the backbone of a band.
What to expect in my Bass Guitar Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced
Bass is very reliant on drums. I always teach my bass students the art of following drum patterns and understanding how to play to a metronome. This is key to develop early good musical habits to be able to play the bass with confidence and accuracy.
What to expect in my Guitar Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced
Expect to learn from an actual songwriter and touring artist in a professional recording studio environment. I have trained with the worlds best vocal coaches and have over 10 years experience training singers for the Voice and American Idol. I can train anyone to sing as long as they are not tone deaf. I use guitar and bass pro software to help the students learn their desired song while hearing accompanying instruments. I teach right hand rhythm technique first, so that my students understand timing and pocket. I recommend for beginners to learn on Acoustic first, being that it teaches timing and rhythm. In a month I will have my students playing a full song from beginning to end, and they should have a full understanding of basic chords and finger placement. I am the best at what I do.

Sami is a killer vocal instructor.
I have been singing for years but have had a few issues I could never get lined out with my voice. Sami not only was able to pinpoint the issues but to also help me resolve them. Sami is friendly, encouraging and realistic about where to start with electric guitar. We covered tabs and have a song assigned on the first lesson. The pace at which he's teaching me is great. Extremely proficient!
He is very diverse in his teaching skills. He's well nuanced, he thought me an array of vocal techniques and hacks that I never noticed before, as well as opening me up to a whole new world of music. Our 16 year old daughter had her first lesson with Sami today, and it was truly exceptional! Sami had already given her more confidence and such excitement for her art. He can do AND teach!
I have had several of voice teachers in the past telling me similar things, but I have never heard myself sound the way I did when working with Sami for the first time. The way he explained how to use my voice made so much sense to me, and that along with his confidence in me released a whole new instrument-my voice entered a whole new level. Sami Chofi
Sami is fantastic! I feel very lucky that we ended up working with him. He is talented and knowledgeable instructor who immediately made my daughter feel at ease. Finding My Voice-Sami
About a month into lessons with Sami. As an "older" student, I had spent much of my youth with guitars and in bands. I never did sing and was convinced I just couldn't-so didn't. As I got older, I simply wanted to try. Though clearly toughest instrument to learn, Sami is super diligent and his ability to see and hear things that are preventing my progression is fantastic. I'm always given work to focus on to break through to the next step-very effective. He has great patience and I love his style. Though I'm early in my journey, I really enjoy working with Sami and can feel progress every week. Another important note is that I tried local vocal coaches, and it didn't sync terribly well and left me guessing during week when practicing vocals are far different than say guitar in this respect. Also keeping a common lesson and practicing style/tech etc was impossible due to what we did in studio vs what I had available at home. I was hesitant to try online lessons, but they are working out FAR better than any local ones I had tried. I do have Mics and a music workstation at home and working directly with the instrumental stems and allowing me to sing, listen and also send Sami recordings between classes has been a great learning experience. The lessons are great as we are both on camera and have no sound or video lag. In short, finding Sami as a great coach, great online experience, and having the instant feedback of my own workstation not expensive is simply the best possible outcome!
