Ben L.

Ben is a former public school band director and current private drum teacher with a degree in Music Education from New Mexico State University. Ben is a professional instructional designer by day and semi-professional musician by night. Ben's current gig is with the 9-piece funk and soul band "Collective Groove" out of Colorado Springs. Ben has been playing the drum set with a wide variety of bands and projects for over 40 years and teaching privately for over 30 years. Ben has extensive experience teaching students of all ages. Ben's mission as a drum teacher is to help his students achieve their musical goals. Ben says "If you haven't thought about your musical goals, now might be a good time to think about it!" Ben is always interested in what prospective students have to say about their musical aspirations! Beyond teaching, Ben writes, records and engineer/mix music and enjoys all aspects of the music production process. He also likes to ride his mountain bike whenever possible. After all, he does live in Colorado! Some of Ben's favorite artists include Pat Metheny, Steven Wilson, Porcupine Tree, Spock’s Beard, Transatlantic, Neal Morse, Kansas, Styx, Earth, Wind & Fire, Kip Winger, and anything funky and soulful.
