I was a happy child, a stressed out teenager, an irresponsible young adult, and am now a thirty-something musician and foodie who probably owns way too many guitars.
I was born in Fort Rucker Alabama, a small Army base, my father was a helicopter pilot.
We moved to Germany when I was young. I spent most of my childhood and adolescence overseas.
My family moved back to the US when I was 17, and I spent the next decade or so traveling around America, working in restaurants and teaching guitar.
I moved to Salt Lake City in the summer of 2002 and have been living and working in the area since.

Dave Co has over 10+ years of music experience in the Salt Lake City area.
Dave Co is proficient in and teaches Guitar Lessons .Formal Education:
2 years at University of South Alabama
Private Education:
a life long student of music
Performing Experience:
Childhood singing performances, occasional holiday performances as an adult, a few restaurant performances, a couple bar performances. Talent shows with students of mine. Regular 'jamming' with friends and family and students.
Experience Teaching:
I have been nurturing others in music since my adolescence, as soon as i realized how beautiful the experience of learning and playing music was, all I wanted to do was share the experience with others, to great success. Initially my motive was to get friends and family hooked so that I would have others to commune with, maybe even eventually start a band with. As the years went by, I realized that seeing others get the same effect from learning and playing was the most appealing part of my own musical experience. It took me a great while to take compensation for my offerings because it felt cynical when I got so much pleasure from teaching. Once I started teaching professionally, I realized that people were eager to compensate me.
As an experienced guitar teacher, my main focus is nurturing the enjoyment factor in students. This seems to be in line with the Tom Robinson philosophy, teach people what they like. Or as I like to coin 'learn with them' music is very much a collaborative effort, in my opinion, the ultimate sharing of souls. My adaptive style of guitar instruction, knows no formal or rigid techniques, other than minimizing the stress that comes with practice. And maximizing awareness of capability.
