My name is Jesse. I live in Asheville, NC and play bass for the band Soulgrass Rebellion. My favorite styles and genres are jazz, funk, and rock. I started playing when I was about 12 or 13 years old, living in Maryland. I took private lessons through high school, and by college I was gigging regularly with jazz bands as well as original bands. Though I got my degree in physics, I still took music theory classes while at school. After graduating college, I moved to St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands to pursue snorkeling, scuba diving, kayaking, and tropical ecology. I spent four years in the islands and played with a number of jazz, classic rock, and country bands playing for tourists. The guys from Soulgrass Rebellion needed a new bass player so they called me up. I decided that it was time to start dedicating my life to music and left the distractions of paradise to come to Asheville, NC.

Jesse Ge has over 9 years of music experience in the Asheville area.
Jesse Ge is proficient in and teaches Bass Guitar Lessons .Formal Education:
I have a high school diploma and I have a B.S. degree in Physics. As far as music goes, I have only ever dabbled in formal education, but I have made it a part of my formal schooling. I was involved with band in elementary and middle school, I played in the high school jazz band, and I took several music theory courses while at university.
Private Education:
I took private lessons for 3 years while in high school, during this time my abilities as a player improved dramatically.
Performing Experience:
From the time I was 18 I considered myself a professional musician. I took gigs playing jazz with my father (a vibraphone player and serious musician) as well as any jazz gigs that needed a bass player. I formed several bands over the years and regularly played funk, rock, reggae, and jazz while at college and while on St. Thomas. I have also done a little bit of studio work as well. Bands I have been in and/or recorded with: Dr. Jones, The Original Don Dadas, The Larks, The Pam Miller Band, J.K. Hayes and Friends, The Top Shelf Jazz Trio, Mary Grasso, The Johnson Project, Turbidity, Soulgrass Rebellion.
Experience Teaching:
I have taken on a couple of students that requested lessons, and I also did some lessons through a music store while in college. When the students practiced, I enjoyed teaching.
