Hi, my name is Nathan and I am a guitar and bass player from Carlsbad, CA. I have been a student of music for 12 years. I have been in touring bands since I was 21. I am 25 now with a new band. I was in a band called lightning cola aka paper days. We played music festivals and opened for huge acts such as Phoenix, Empire of The Sun, Mac Demarco, STRFKR, Ok Go, Wild Ones, Reptar, And even Casey Veggies. My musical influences include Mac Demarco, Oingo Boingo, Minus the bear, and a ton of different genres and bands. I’m very open to all styles of music. In my free time I enjoy going to the beach and playing beach volleyball or basketball. My teaching style can best be described as calm, patient, and thorough. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that everything will come with time and effort. In my lessons, you can expect to learn various scales, chords, and the ins and outs of any song that you want to learn. I like to tell my students that anyone can play guitar or bass if you put the time into it. My favorite thing about teaching is that I really enjoy music and it makes me happy to teach it. My favorite performance was opening for Mac Demarco in Santa Barbara at UCSB. Everything was worth it in that moment My students love that I am calm and patient and fun to be around. I primarily teach pop, rock, metal, and funk but I can teach any genre you are interested in. My approach as a teacher is to teach you well and make it fun. Thanks for taking a look at my profile.
