About Me

Hi, my name is Egan and I am a multi-instrumentalists from Akron, Ohio. I have been a student of music for over 20 years. I am a very versatile musician and I have a wide range of musical influences. I love and appreciate all styles of music. Some of my favorites to play include Jazz, Classical, Pop, Hip-Hop, Reggae and Soul! I also enjoy playing the Blues as well as some good old fashion Rock & Roll! My teaching style is laid back and open with lots of structure and encouragement. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that every student has their own musical path, but there are core fundamentals to master the language. In my lessons, you can expect to learn those core fundamentals as well as the myriad of musical pathways available to travel on. My favorite thing about teaching is seeing a student achieve new levels of proficiency and understand through hard work and dedication, then showing how those realizations can be applied to other areas of their life. On top of being a teacher, I also regularly perform, write, and record my own music. I average between 150-200 performances a year all over Northeast Ohio and the regional Mid-West. My students love to see me perform! I primarily teach piano, but I can also teach guitar, bass, and vocals.
