10 Years
Peace & Love! My name is Taizhe', and I am a singer-songwriter, performing artist, and creator from Prince George, Va. I have been a student of music for over 15 years. My musical influences include a fusion of Jazz, Soul/R&B, Eclectic, Pop, and even Classical. Some of the most influential musicians and performers in my life include Erykah Badu, Chaka Khan, Anita Baker, Aaliyah, Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, FKA Twigs, Jill Scott, Sade, and so much more. My teaching style can best be described as patient and genuine. Each lesson is curated especially for you. In my lessons, you can expect to learn how to love and create music in a new and exciting way. I like for my students to be prepared to be taken out of their element, their comfort zone, because all things that grow beautiful and strong must get uncomfortable. My favorite thing about teaching is the fact that we all are technically students. We are students of one another. Throughout my years of performing, I would have to say the best moment had to be at the Richmond Jazz Festival. Getting to rock out the same stage as Al Jerreau, Tamia, and The Roots was absolutely one of a kind! Overall, I'd love to help you achieve your goals! Unfortunately, I do not currently have access to my studio so I will have to travel to you or we will meet over the web! Either is fine with me as long as its convenient for all. During our initial sessions, we will get to know your voice and some of your vocal abilities and progress into performance etiquette. At the end of every other session, I will give you a song to learn and have ready to "perform" for an "audience" at the beginning of our next session. Don't worry, you will grow through it all. During these meetings, you will gain confidence and the skills to take to any studio, stage or backyard function! Thank you for taking a look at my profile and I look forward to hearing from you!

What to expect in my Song Writing Lessons
Students can expect to have an intense "get to know my inner self" session with the instructor. A lot of our songwriting sessions will include a poetry decoding section, where we analyze a written work poem, lyrical note, choir staff, etc, in the same area of our current study or the like, snd discuss our initial response to that work. We will learn what it means to be vulnerable and open with ourselves. Some of the best writers tell true stories and some tell things only the magical can dream.
