Hi, my name is Nathaniel and I am a piano teacher from Northern Virginia. I have been a student of music for 9 years. My teaching style can best be described as accommodating and student-oriented. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I want every student to succeed and develop a passion for playing piano. In my lessons, you can expect to learn the basic of piano and how to read music. I like to tell my students to start by finding middle C and marking it with a removable stick. Students can expect to learn how to identify the key letters and tones, how to correspond a note on a base and treble clef with the key on the piano, how to properly place their fingers on the keyboard, how to play the major and minor scales from memory, how to interpret the meanings on various notes ie. whole notes, 1/8 notes, 1/4 notes etc..
