Review About Me
I grew up in the midwest, mostly in Lawrence Kansas. I started playing at age 8, nealy out of nowhere, and copied by ear music which I had heard on the radio. Playing piano fascinated me, and I demanded to know as much about this interesting instrument as I could. After highschool, during which time I learned to read music, I successfully submitted an audition conaisting of Liszt's Fist Mephisto Waltz, and Beethoven's 15th Sonata. This won me the Elaine Edwards Piano scholarship on the spot. In addition to accompanying choirs, I have also accompanied individuals and ensembles in several styles. My private instructor was Dr. Martin Cuellar, who helped cultivate my melody centered style. I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Music Education with honors, and immediately completed a Master's degree in Music with the completion of research in teaching children with Cochlear implants. I have worked with people of all ages and abilities. I love classical music, but I do also enjoy musical theatre, and modern piano accompaniment. While I take a technical and repertoirs based approach to piano, my love for it has never waned, and it is my wish to equally inspire others to enjoy this fascinating musical instrument as I have for over 20 years.

What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced
At the very first lesson I will do an interview and analyse your ability. We will then set some small goals for the following week to get started. At all other lessons we will review the previous week's work, review in which ways you grew during practice, identify areas which need nourishment in your skill, set goals, and complete an exit interview highlighting those goals. I expect students to practice, explore what interests them about piano, and bring new challenges to lessons. I want to learn, too. :-)

At Highland Community College as accompanist and as a solo artist in residence. At Emporia State University as accompanist, Ensemble accpanist, and Soloist. On Tour in South Korea in 2009 with nine other musicians.
