About Me
I began learning piano at age 6, taking private lessons throughout my formative years. During high school I dabbled in vocal and piano covers of popular songs on YouTube. I continued piano lessons in my first year of college, and expanded my musical interests into vocal performance. After graduating, I spend some time taking vocal lessons in another state as well as performing with the Baton Rouge Chorus (Sweet Adalines International). Most of my teaching experience comes from working with a studio in Orange Park. Please Note: I do prefer to teach online. I can not teach at my own home due to my HOA, however I can accommodate in home lessons at your location up to 10 miles from my location.

What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate

The first lesson will be an assessment of ability in terms of reading music, as well as a discussion of what your goals are. Depending on the age range of the students, different books will be requires, paid for by the student, parent or guardian. Subsequent lessons will be to work through the books and any extra materials they wish to work on. Between the ages of 5-14, I require a minimum of 15 minutes a day of practice. After age 14 the minimum will increase to 30 minutes a day. Practice includes working on music theory, scales & chord progressions (aka. warm ups), and the pieces of music we are currently working on.

What to expect in my Vocal Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate

All materials for lessons are to be paid for by the student, parent, or guardian of the student. The first lesson is mostly to learn what vocal range, music reading ability, and goals are for taking lessons. From there we can assign material based on where you are at and work every week to see your goals achieved. I expect my students to practice at minimum 15 minutes a day, and this practice should be both vocal warm ups and the material we are currently working on. For those who are working on auditions (for performances or colleges), I expect you to practice for at least 30 minutes a day, and this should include vocal warm up, music theory, and the materials we are currently working on.
