My name is Joston, and I have played music for about 9 years now. I started on drums, but now I also play guitar and bass. However, drums are definitely still my favorite! I played in three bands in Athens, Ohio where I attended Ohio University. My parents are relatively young, so I grew up on 90s rock and hip hop, as well as some 80s. I love all genres of music, but my favorites are jazz, hip hop, funk, and rock. Although I do not study music at Ohio, I would consider myself a music nerd of sorts and I want to continue to pursue it professionally. If you are looking for someone who you would consider a friend and a teacher, I'm your guy. I'm not looking to show you how much I know or swamp you with technical music jargon. I want every lesson to be comfortable, yet engaging, and most importantly, fun! Music is about expressing and enjoying yourself. Music is also a language: the more you learn, the better you can communicate ideas. Whether it's jamming or playing a certain song, you will grow as an artist because you are using the language more.

What to expect in my Bass Guitar Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate
Learning bass lines, tightening rhythm, implementing finger exercises.
What to expect in my Drum Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate
Not going to dwell on rudiments. I am open to teaching them but my approach will more focused on playing to a click, strengthening pocket, groove, and feel.
What to expect in my Guitar Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced
Rhythmic and structural articulation: more arpeggios and chord progressions. I can teach solos as well, but it will be more feel/jam based.
