Adam began playing drums at the age of 13. Over the years, he developed his skills further by playing songs in bands both covers and originals, writing music, and playing multiple venues. He gained performance experience in the Chicago area by playing at such venues as Reggies Rock Club, Rock Bottom and with acts such as Levitika & Freeway. Though Adam can teach many different genres of music, his musical personal favorites are rock, metal, and jazz which had great influence on his style of playing. Adam loves music because it has always been a creative outlet for expressing through sounds and loves teaching music because of the reaction and outcome of someone trying to find a means to create and collaborate with a unique hobby. What to expect in my Drum Lessons
Basic drum naming conventions, types of drums, proper stick technique, playing and learning basic drums beats, play with or without them depending on how comfortable they are. Eventually down the line play to a simple song, something the student would enjoy playing to but just the basics. Explain and demonstrate rudiments such as single and double stroke rolls, single paradiddles, and flams. Keeping them excited and motivated to learn more about their instrument. Show them basic drum transcripts to understand how drums look in a musical or big band sense. Always be patient with every student as everyones different.
