Hi, my name is James and I am a composer from Florida. I have been a student of music for nearly 20 years. My musical influences include some of the most well known and respected composers from the romantic era to present day and I also enjoy playing and listening to jazz piano. My teaching style can best be described as practical and patient. I believe that a skill is best learned when able to make it applicable in some way. My teaching philosophy can best be described in that I believe anybody can learn a skill with the belief that they can and the guidance in the right direction. Everybody learns differently and at different paces. I hope to encourage students to find their own pace and to help them succeed in not only music, but in other studies and in life. In my lessons, you can expect to learn not only how to play one or two songs, but also the tools you need to gain the freedom to express yourself musically at your instrument.
