I started playing in a rock and roll cover band when I was 14. We also did originals performing at various events. As we got better we started playing some of the bigger clubs in town, eventually mini touring as an opening act for another cover band. I have many years now of both live and recording studio experience. Was a house drummer for a local church, playing behind glass to a click track. Still occasionally play with a variety band, and am full time with a country rock band. I have last minute substituted for drummers and know approximately 300 songs. I just started a new project as a duo blues original cover act and will be in the recording studio this month. If all goes well I may mini tour again.

When I was in High school I was responsible for helping younger percussion players learn material that they were having trouble with. I found it effective to play along side of them having them try to copy what I was playing until they got it. I still do this today finding that depending where a student is at in their playing ability, staying away from confusing charts speeds the learning process. I try and keep it simple and fun.
