About Me

My name is Jay. I started playing piano and guitar at a young age by ear. I played saxophone in high school band. I have performed for many years in various styles of bands, as a soloist, duo, trio, in large venues, private events, small coffee-house types, and church. I teach what the student wants to learn as well as what I believe every musician should understand and be able to apply. I have a passion for music and highly encourage each student to develop their passion. I believe lessons should be fun, entertaining, hard work, with a little finger pain for beginning guitarists. If you consistently practice and apply what we talk about in the lessons-you will be teaching beginners in a year or so-if you desire.

Jay W. has over 35 years of music experience in the Richardson area.

Jay W. is proficient in and teaches Guitar Lessons, Bass Guitar Lessons, Song Writing Lessons .

Review:

My son loves his time with Jay!

My son loves his time with Jay. Jay has been able to teach him how to truly hear the music beyond what is just on a page. Jay has taught my son to feel the music, to hear the melodies and harmonies beyond what is written on the page. Jay is an incredible musician and has been able to teach my son to express his music well beyond what is written on a page. I would highly recommend Jay, as an Instructor/Mentor, for any of his various instruments, which include guitars, Bass, mandolin, ukelele, saxophones, piano, NAF Native American Flute, percussion, songwriting, performing in various venues-with varying styles of music from Folk, Country, Blues, Classical, Pop, some Jazz, Craig Wilson wrote on Tue, 23 Jul 2024
