I am now 50 years old and have been a musician since I was 14 when I began playing trumpet. A few years later, I picked up guitar and then some years later began singing and writing songs. For three and a half years, I was enrolled in the Music Education program at Arizona State University where I was one semester short of a degree before deciding to transfer to English literature. I began to perform professionally six years ago when I moved to Vietnam. I played in many venues in both Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang, over 100 performances in all. I have substantial experience teaching as a university professor various courses in the Humanities, and so I know and understand the teaching process. I am naturally patient, a good communicator, and acutely in tune with student learning patterns as well as ways to motivate them and keep them enthusiastically working hard and enjoying the learning process.
