About Me

Hello! My name is Kimberly, and I recently graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance. I have played flute for 13 years and piccolo for 8 years. During my middle school and high school years, I participated in Nevada’s Honor Band, All-State Band, and All-State Orchestra. They provide wonderful opportunities for young musicians to work with various conductors, and I loved working with other musicians throughout the county. I’d love to help my students participate in these types of events by working on their audition music with them. During each individual lesson, students will strive to become consistent, professional, and well-rounded musicians. I promote a positive and encouraging atmosphere, which creates motivation and self-confidence. With that in mind, students within the studio will learn proper practice techniques to gain a solid foundation for playing the flute.

Kimberly K. has over 2 years of music experience in the Denton area.

What to expect in my Orchestral Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced

Students can expect to work on tone, rhythm, air speed/direction, technique, dynamics, intonation, musicality, and orchestral excerpts if the student is more advanced. Each lesson will begin with a duet between the student and myself because it will help the student to hear me play with them, and it will be another form of sight reading. There are multiple books that the student will need to bring to each lesson as well, such as the Taffanel and Gaubert book, Moyse’s Tone Development Through Interpretation for the Flute, Melodious Etudes for Flute based on Vocalises by Marco Bordogni, Flute Music by French Composers, and solo repertoire based on individual student development.
