John Mo has over 43 years of music experience in the Lancaster area.
John Mo is proficient in and teaches .Formal Education:
Mountain View College – 1972/1976
Studied Liberal Arts and Music.
North Texas State University – 1977/1981
Double bass studies.
Dallas Baptist University - B.C.A - Applied Business Administration, 1988
Private Education:
Studied electric and upright with Fred Casares, Frank Kimleko and Buddy Mohmed.
Performing Experience:
1967 - Began performing at the age of 14 at a local youth club in Oak Cliff. Since 1972, I've spent time on the road playing throughout the 5 state area with numerous Texas based bands i.e. John Solly, Gunpoint, Ariel, No Sweat, Like Normal People, Reggae Force, Custer's Last Band, Acoustic Distortion, Steve Jackson, Arthur Godfrey (Nashville, TN), Suzanne Kimbrell and Silent Strider Tribe.
Experience Teaching:
1 year at Brook Mays Music in Wynnewood Village while attending year North Texas State U. in the late 70's.
5 years instructing my son Alex who attended Booker T. Washington H.S.P.V.A. Alex played 3 years in the jazz combo, played Monterey Jazz Festival, several downbeat awards and a scholarship to Berklee School of Music in Boston, Ma. Graduated with a music synthesis degree and is happily employed.
