Nancy started playing the piano at the age of eight. Over the years she developed her skills further by performing and competing. She started teaching at the early age of sixteen and started competing in state and national divisions while in High School. Nancy traveled with various music groups throughout high school and college. She was the concert choir pianist for two years. She also competed in California Statewide piano divisions and won first place twice. Nancy won first place and a command performance in the Northwest Music competition. She was a lead church pianist for seven years. Nancy also enjoys performing for weddings, special events, and Christmas events. During her time as the concert choir pianist for two years, Nancy's exceptional talent and dedication were recognized, leading to her participation in California Statewide piano competitions. Her hard work paid off as she clinched the first-place title not just once, but twice, establishing her as a formidable pianist. Nancy's musical prowess also shone through in the Northwest Music competition, where she not only secured first place but also earned a coveted command performance opportunity. Outside of these competitive endeavors, Nancy devoted seven years to serving as a lead church pianist, demonstrating both her technical skill and emotional depth in her performances. Unparallelled Service!
We have been with Nancy for 5 years. Our youngest started at only 3 years of age. I didn't realize children could learn before they even knew the alphabet and read but there is a way and Nancy has the system perfected. Not only can our children do theory but they also enjoy performing and composing. She makes learning fun. Her Academy also offers guitar and vocal lessons. Her vetted instructors are located throughout Atlanta. Virtual, in-studio and in-home. The end of year recital is like no other. It truly gives the students, young and old an opportunity to let their hard work be shared with other music lovers in a relaxed and fun end of year celebration. We have become friends with other students throughout the years and this is one of the unique aspects of learning with Nancy's Academy of Music-the camaraderie and shared appreciation of the positive effects of music in our lives. Flexible and Accommodating!
My kids have taken piano lessons from Ms. Nancy and Ms. Amy for the past 9 months and I cannot believe the progress they have both made. My daughter can now read music and play a few songs. Ms. Nancy is very accommodating and always flexible when life happens and kids cannot make it to class. More progress than I anticipated!
I adore Miss Nancy! I started classes about a month ago with zero musical background, but she's already got me way further than I ever thought I'd be. She's patient, caring and in tune with the pace her students need to go during lessons.
