Jeremiah began playing guitar at the age of ten, and began singing years before then. Over the years, he developed his skills further by being a part of several bands, learning techniques from other professional musicians, and attending the University of Oklahoma for a degree in Vocal Performance and Music Technology. He gained performance experience in the vocal/guitar area by playing at such venues as Carnegie Hall in NYC, Canes ballroom in Tulsa, and The Opolis in Norman. Though Jeremiah can teach many different genres of music, his musical personal favorites are Indie pop and alternative rock, which had great influence on his style of playing. Jeremiah loves music because of its universal applications and appeal to individual emotions and loves teaching music because everyone should have the skills to artistically express themselves and share their perception of the world. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned professional, Jeremiah can help you expand and enhance your playing and musical knowledge. Beginner - Intermediate
Students can expect a fun, open, and creative environment to express their musical ideas. Students can choose from several different writing techniques and will learn all aspects of creating music, from composing lyrics, to arrangement, to melodic progressions. Lessons will be loosely constructed, based solely around the student's musical interests and desires to ideally allow them to express themselves just as they would like.
What to expect in my Vocal Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate
Students can expect to start every lesson with a vocal warm up, though are encouraged to do this before the lesson starts. Students will learn extensive vocal techniques based upon their skill level, and can expect to leave with an advanced knowledge of anatomy and how it applies to the human voice. Students will also learn repertoire based on their own interests and practice them every lesson. In addition to proper technique, students will be introduced to music theory and how to apply it to their own musical interests.
What to expect in my Guitar Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced
Depending on skill level, students can expect an in-depth overview of applied guitar and musical theory, varied guitar playing techniques, and will be expected to have practiced with provided supplemental handouts before their lesson. Students will also pick songs based on their interests to learn and jam periodically with the instructor. Finally, students can expect to have an improvisation session at the end of every lesson.
