What to expect in my Drum Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate
First and foremost will be a heavy focus on technique and form. Chop building comes easy enough with time, but a conscious effort to improve the hand motions of students will not only prevent them from injuring themselves, but improve the sound quality of their playing overall. Exercises to improve these along with lessons on various genres will help the student develop into a more sophisticated and versatile drummer that can apply their newfound skills in many music environments.
Formal Education:
High school percussion: sometimes 8 hours a day of rudimentary practice combined with learning showmanship
Private Education:
5 years of learning kit techniques from private instructors
Performing Experience:
Have performed with multiple cover bands, and recently toured the Southeastern U.S. with a local band called "The Young Something," playing many shows in places such as Houston, Nashville, and Atlanta.
Experience Teaching:
Been a well praised tutor in literature and English in school, these skills can easily be transferred to teaching musical abilities despite my lack of specific experience
