Raised just outside Nashville, Tennessee, Joshgrew up bathed in the vibrant scene of Music City. Exposed to genres ranging from country, to funk, to RnB, and more, he quickly developed an ear for the drums. His pursuit of the instrument led him to study Jazz drumset and Latin percussion at the University of North Texas, planting him in the rich community of DFW’s musical environment.

What to expect in my Drum Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced
Students should expect a tailor made experience that works coordination and comfortability on the drums, rudiments and history of the instrument, and vocabulary pertaining to the style of music they wish to play. All these aspects will be approached with a focus on musicality and creativity.
Formal Education:
B.A. in Music from University of North Texas
Private Education:
Studied privately under Ed Soph, Jose Aponte, Quincy Davis, and Stockton Helbing
Performing Experience:
Performed with various large and small jazz ensembles through UNT, performed with local Dallas jazz crooner Marc Touissant, played various shows around DFW with the UNT Latin Jazz Lab
Experience Teaching:
Experience teaching both classical percussion and drumset at a high level
