Hi, my name is Severin. I am a musician and music producer from Luther, OK. I have been a student of music for over 10 years. My musical influences include The Cure, The Smiths, The Melvins, Johnny Cash, Metallica, Parquet Courts, George Strait and I also enjoy Father John Misty. My teaching style can best be described as thorough and fun. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I teach my students the art of self-teaching. Many people are caught off guard by this statement, saying that I'm just letting them figure it out, but this is not the case. In my lessons, you can expect to learn first the basics such as simple riffs, easy chords and light music theory. After basics we move up to chord progressions, scales and fun riffs written by bands the student enjoys. After we master this, we will then learn how to read chords, tabs, and how to learn a song by ear. I like to tell my students to never get discouraged, practice everyday, and to have fun with it. My favorite thing about teaching is watching the students progress. My favorite performance was by far was playing co-main stage at GFest with my band. My students love that I keep the lessons challenging but fun. I primarily teach guitar, but I can also teach bass.
