Hi, my name is Sarah, and I am a junior from Ottawa University. I have been a student of music for three years. My teaching style can best be described as fun and enjoyable. In my lessons, you can expect to learn how to hold the instrument, learn how to read music and the technical aspects of playing. I like to tell my students that it is okay if you do not understand right away, I can find new ways to teach a lesson if the student is struggling. My favorite thing about teaching is when a child learns new material and smile, because they finally understand it, and are excited to show off their new talent. My favorite performance was at the end of my sophomore year of college when I played the Malcolm Arnold Sonatina for clarinet and piano. My students love that I can make learning music fun and an exciting experience. I primarily teach clarinet, but I can also teach flute, saxophone and piano. My approach as a teacher is to make it fun so that the student wants to continue a life that involves music. Thanks for taking a look at my profile. Hope to meet you soon!

What to expect in my Orchestral Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate
During lessons students should expect a fun learning environment. A lesson would consist of learning proper embouchure, tuning, developing tone, and learning proper techniques through varies exercises.
Formal Education:
After being involved in band throughout high school I attended Glendale Community College where I earned my Associates of arts degree. Currently I am pursing a Bachelors degree in music education.
Private Education:
I have been taking private lessons myself for 8 years, and have been teaching them myself for 5 years.
Performing Experience:
Over the past three years I have performed various solos and also in ensembles such as clarinet quartet, clarinet choir, and woodwind quintet.
Experience Teaching:
I have been helping a students one-on-one for about 4 years.
