Julie O.
Keyboard and Piano Lessons
Home or Webcam
7 Years
Hi, my name is Julie and grew up in Wisconsin. I have played the piano since I was 5 years old. I went to University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, where I was classically trained. I have been teaching piano for 7 years and love it! I also have a degree in Music Therapy. My teaching style can best be described as fun but I encourage and motivate my students to work hard. In my lessons, you can expect to learn the fundamentals of music through method books or other forms but I will work with you in finding songs that fit your liking. I like to tell my students music should be fun and enjoyable but it takes time and dedication. My favorite thing about teaching is seeing the improvement in students and forming rapport with them. My favorite performance was my senior recital. I primarily teach from the Faber method books, but I can also teach from Alfred or Bastien. I do expect parent involvement and highly encourage students in becoming responsible with practice time. Thanks for taking a look at my profile. Hope to meet you soon!

What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons
Learning theory, doing warmups, and learning basic techniques will be integrated into a lesson but I will also work with the students in finding songs and exploring genres they enjoy. I believe practice is very important and encourage parents involvement. I will motivate students to learn responsibility in practicing and setting goals for themselves.
