Newly based in the Denver, Colorado area, oboist Christineis currently adjunct professor of oboe at Colorado Christian University and holds the position of oboe 3/English horn with the Omaha Symphony. An active performer and teacher, Dr.was awarded a DMA in performance from UK in August of 2017 and served on their faculty from August of 2017 until May of 2018. For the past three summers, she has appeared with the Opera in the Ozarks festival in Arkansas and has also performed with the Bluegrass Opera Company and the Lexington Chamber Singers in Lexington, KY. She also currently serves as principal oboe with the Lexington Chamber Orchestra. eviously held the position of teaching assistant to the oboe studio and performed with the University of Kentucky Symphony Orchestra and the University of Kentucky Opera Theatre as principal oboe. In February of 2016, she performed the Mozart Oboe Concerto with the University of Kentucky Symphony Orchestra as the Concerto Competition winner. Dr.holds a Masters degree from The Boston Conservatory in Massachusetts and a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Georgia. She has also appeared on two commercial recordings: the CD and DVD recording of Home: A Live Concert Recording with the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra alongside the Atlanta based rock band Collective Soul, and the CD Millennium Canons: Looking Forward, Looking Back with the University of Georgia Wind Ensemble under the direction of Dr. John Lynch. Her major teachers include Dr. ToniMarie Marchioni, Mr. Robert Sheena, Dr. Reid Messich, and Dr. Dwight Manning. a member of the National Association of Musicians, the International Double Reed Society, and the College Music Society. Christine teaches oboe, English horn, and beginning piano to students of all ages! Her teaching style emphasizes high standards of performance while allowing students to view the lesson as a workshop for experimentation. She expects preparation and focus during lessons, while aspiring to make her teaching studio a safe place. The study of music allows students to harness their own creativity and promotes a sense of ownership in their work and performance. Christine  hopes to inspire her students to be proud of all their accomplishments, no matter what the field, and to encourage them to demand excellence in all their pursuits.
