Shawn began playing trumpet at the age of 10. Over the years, he developed his skills further by training by ear. He gained performance experience in the music industry area by playing at such venues as House of Blues and The Village Vanguard and with acts such as Dave Brubeck, Christian McBride, Scarface! Though Shawn can teach many different genres of music, his musical personal favorites are Miles Davis, Wynton Marsalis, Woody Shaw, which had great influence on his style of playing. Shawn loves music because it embodies passion and discipline and loves teaching music. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned professional, Shawn can help you expand and enhance your playing.
