Hi! My name is Gabbi, and I am from Minneapolis. I have been studying classical and jazz piano for 15 years, and guitar and drums for 3. I play keyboards and do vocals in two local Minneapolis bands. I am a student at Augsburg University, and I currently study under Sonia Thompson. In the past, I studied classical piano with Ann DuHamel at the University of Minnesota Morris, Dr. Paul Wirth of the University of Northwestern, and Dr. Sandra Joy Friesen of St. Olaf College. I have been teaching students ages 6-15 for three years, and am willing and able to teach adults as well. I teach classical repertoire primarily, but can incorporate jazz, rock and improvisation as well. I am passionate about teaching and love to help students realize their own creative potential through music. I think the language of music is so important to learn, and brings joy to all who speak it. I look forward to meeting and working with you!

Lots of fun! I make the learning experience dynamic and active, and I like to incorporate technique and theory along with performance etiquette. We will learn the pieces you want to learn, so that you are excited and motivated about the practicing process. I will challenge you but we will progress at the pace that is unique to you.
