Hello! My name is Ms. V and I provide private piano lessons for all ages in a safe and nurturing atmosphere. I opened my current in-home studio when I relocated to Albuquerque in 2010. I currently have students ranging in age from 5 to 75 years old. I work very well with children and beginning student, but all levels are welcome!

I have a Masters Degree in Education with a Minor in Music. I've been playing the piano since I was 6 years old and have over 35 years of teaching experience. I work with a variety of methods and happily work with beginners or people want to start playing again after an absence—however long that absense might have been! Why not add an activity that can be enjoyed a lifetime? This is a great time to start piano lessons!

My objective is to teach people to read music. My wish is to demystify the “little black dots” on the page! I want my students to enjoy playing the piano! I am not necessarily trying to develop concert pianists, but instead hope to instill a love of music and a realization that they are developing a skill that they can continue to enjoy their entire lifetime! That being said, I also believe in giving students the skills they need to become accomplished musicians. As a result, we not only work on reading notes, but we talk about technique, theory and even some music history! I primarily use the Alfred Premier Series, although I have used most of the series on the market. I offer recitals to students who take lessons with me throughout the year.
