Hi, my name is Gideon and I am a trumpet, euphonium, and french horn player from Little Rock, Arkansas. I have been a student of music for 19 years. My musical influences include Sergei Rachmaninoff and Maurice Ravel; I also enjoy composing music. My teaching style can best be described as serious and very determined but very forgiving as music is never perfect. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that anyone can learn music with just a bit of determination, dedication, and practice. In my lessons, you can expect to learn the basic skills of playing the instrument and methods for success. I like to tell my students anyone can be a exceptional in music, all it takes is dedication and practice to perfect your craft. My favorite thing about teaching is that people learn differently. It's always nice to watch people filled with excitement as they learn something new. My favorite performance to watch was The President's Own Marine Band. My students love that I hold them accountable. I primarily teach mid-level to high school, but I can also teach beginners and adults as well. What to expect in my Orchestral Lessons
- Intermediate
Anywhere from basic instruction on how to play the instrument to methods and techniques on the instrument or different kinds of music. Beginners can expect to learn proper embrasure and techniques on how to play the instrument. Beginners will start in the Essential Element books and learn basic music theory as well. Intermediate level players should expect to work on small solos and exercises on the instrument. These exercises include but aren't limited to the Clark Studies, The Arban book, and proper warm-up and warm down, and lip slurs.
