Hi, my name is Carly and I am a 20-year-old college student from Jacksonville. I have been a student of music for 15 years. My musical influences include Renee Flemming, Barbara Bonney and I also enjoy the music of Roger Quilter. My teaching style can best be described as personal, I think it's very important to adjust techniques per student based on their learning style and experience. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I meet my students where they are and try to help them progress past their own expectations. In my lessons, you can expect to learn proper warm-ups for your instrument, great practice techniques and an understanding of your instrument. I like to tell my students that they have the ability to be fantastic and they can achieve that through practice. My favorite thing about teaching is helping students learn and seeing them have a lightbulb moment. My favorite performance was singing Carmina Burana by Carl Orff with Jacksonville University. My students love that I am relatable. I primarily teach voice, but I can also teach beginning piano. Thanks for taking a look at my profile. Hope to meet you soon!

What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate
You can expect to learn new music and how to sing properly. You will learn to warm up and several practice techniques. My lessons will improve your sound tremendously.
What to expect in my Vocal Lessons
Beginner -
I use the Piano Adventures books that cover theory, artistry techniques, it has a great selection of repertoire. You will learn the fundamentals of music and will be able to read music.
Formal Education:
I am currently earning a bachelor degree in choral music education at Jacksonville University.
Private Education:
I started taking voice lessons when I was six years old and have taken them ever since.
Performing Experience:
I perform often with Jacksonville University and recently sang with the Jacksonville Symphony.
Experience Teaching:
I have taught private lessons for approximately two years.
