I have been teaching the drums for 7 years, and playing for well over 20. My knowledge on the instrument comes from mostly being self taught. However, I was always in the school band from elementary school, through high school, and even have some drum corps experience. Through that experience, I learned how to read and write music, and I am able to use a formal background while keeping up with all the modern techniques and trends in playing drums. I am also an audio engineer and run my own sound company, Banzai Sound. Currently, I work with live audio and have had the chance to be on the sound crew for a lot of big names including: Dave Matthews, Jimmy Buffet, Ozzy Osbourne, Imagine Dragons, Nickelback, Kenny Chesney, Incubus, Chris Stapelton, Green Day, and plenty more. I started out working in recording studios all over town, and have a huge passion for recording and mixing records as well.
Jeffrey K. has over 20+ years of music experience in the North Olmsted area.
Jeffrey K. is proficient in and teaches Drum Lessons, Record Engineer Produce .What to expect in my Drum Lessons
My lessons are taught with the process of building a solid foundation, and moving up from there. I'm always happy to help students with music they need to learn for school or an audition, but I also try to teach formally through relevant music to the student's taste. Teaching out of a book isn't really my thing. I also like to teach tuning, and building a kit set-up that works with the student.
What to expect in my Record Engineer Produce
Always start with the basics. Starting with the inner workings and different kinds of microphones, to how the sound travels down the cable and into the mixing board, to producing a noise out of the speakers. Audio engineering is a field that involves many moving parts, that have to work together to make a mix sound good to the ear. I've had the privilege to work with some of the biggest acts in the world, and use that experience to help students make their own recordings they can be proud to show off.
