Hi my name is Davis and I've been playing drums for about ten years, starting at age 13! I grew up in the Charlotte area and learned to play by teaching myself and by taking private lessons. Since moving to Charleston in 2014, I have furthered my experience by playing in bands such as Whitehall, The Night Caps, Pierce Alexander, and Midnight Endeavor! I performed on 4 tours in 2018, traveling to 15 states and 2 countries US, Canada. I can play a variety of genres but I specialize in Rock, Indie, Funk, and Pop. I don''t have any experience in teaching, but I look forward to creating a curriculum for each individual student based on his/her specific interests, goals, learning style, and level of playing. I'm patient and can move at whatever pace the student wants to go while still pushing them to be the best they can be. While I don't have a traditional background in drum training i.e. high school band, drum line, degree in music, I am extremely passionate about the drums and driven to be the best drummer I can be, which is something I hope to pass along to my future students!

What to expect in my Drum Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate
Students can expect that I will be patient and encouraging. I'm an easy-going guy, but I will also push them to practice and be the best they can be. They can expect that I will cater to their specific interests and goals. Any entry-level/beginner students can expect to be learning things like rudiments on the practice pad and how to hold sticks properly before moving to full kit. Most intermediate level students can expect to be learning on the drum kit for most lessons. I will challenge each student based on his/her level to think outside the box and try to play in ways they haven't thought of in order to expand their realm of possibilities.
Formal Education:
6 months of jazz drum lessons at College of Charleston
Private Education:
4 years worth of private lessons from 4 different instructors.

Eight years of live performing experience.
