Musical theory is an excellent conduit for shaping a child's understanding. Throughout my life I have undergone experiences that have molded my educational philosophy. While working with Pre-K 4-SA, the position allowed me to create content that focused on developmentally appropriate goals through scaffolding based play to incite curiosity that stemmed from the individual's interest. Pre-K 4-SA gave me the opportunity to learn from multiple students who each had a variety of social disabilities. Adapting lesson plans for small and large group activities helped hone my analytical, creative problem solving skills. While working at the Doseum as a Discovery Leader, my position offered similar freedoms that allowed for the creation of interdisciplinary tools and activities that align with the TEKS. These devices and activities are now utilized during field experiences, pop-ups, and events such as Beyond Limits. My work with the Doseum has reached audiences spanning anywhere from four to twelve years of age. For the past five years of my professional development I have had the opportunity to strengthen bonds within families and education. To be able to impact the youth with positive encouragement and aiding their expansion of the mind through informal education, will allow for them to find value in their own work ethic and personal growth. The growth and modulation of the traditional educational theory is an excellent conduit for shaping a child's understanding of the world around them.
