Hi, my name is Jonathan (aka Jonny), and I am a drummer from Philadelphia, currently living in St. Petersburg, Florida. I've played drums since I was six so over 27 years now..yeesh. I have had a great fortune of having some really awesome teachers and I was able to tour professionally as a rock and roll drummer. I have endorsements from Paiste and Pearl Drums and had the opportunity to work with Jon Bon Jovi's producer, work with members from the Murderdolls, Joey Jordisons Band in Wednesday 13 and Trashlight Vision. I've had the honor to travel the world as a drummer and be a full time musician. I've played with some unbelievable musicians throughout my career. But I love to teach! My teaching philosophy is more down to earth and custom to each student. I couldn't read music growing up and it always seemed other musicians were so much better than me but talent comes from perseverance. The dedication and passion are within you and the instrument is simply your paint brush and the music is your canvas. You can do anything you want with the right instruction and commitment. In my lessons, you can expect to learn the basic fundamentals along with hidden gems I've picked up along the way and most importantly good life skills for musicians overall such as stretching, diet, fitness, and having a good positive attitude and how to integrate all of that into your musical profession. You can be great and talented but mess up without a good head on your shoulders when trouble comes. Drums come from the soul, the rhythm of your heart and together we learn to unite your creative expression with your instrument. My students love that I don't waste time, speak truthful and get to the point, getting them to their goals faster. I primarily teach rock, funk, power drums, metal, and percussion.
