Hi, my name is Jacob and I am a saxophonist from Beaumont, TX. I have been a student of music for 17 years. My musical influences include John Coltrane, Timothy Mcallister and Charlie Parker. I also enjoy playing piano. My teaching style can best be described as reserved, however I am very demanding of my students when it comes to practicing. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I will fundamentally build you into a prominent player. In my lessons, you can expect to learn fundamentals, theory, tools, and technique. I like to tell my students HARD WORK TRIUMPHS WHEN TALENT WON'T WORK. My favorite thing about teaching is seeing concepts click for my students. My favorite performance was 2009 Mardi Gras New Orleans. My students love that I have so many stories and life lessons. I primarily teach Saxophone, but I can also teach theory, piano, jazz improv, and song writing. My approach as a teacher is to meet the needs of my students. Thanks for taking a look at my profile.
