About Me

Hi, my name is Dylan S. and I am a current sophomore at Texas Christian University. I have been a student of music for over 8 years, and I also am the first and only in ATSSB history to make the ATSSB All-State Jazz Ensemble as first chair on all three saxophones (Bari, Tenor, and Alto). I have competed in numerous competitions and I have been the only one to have accomplished multiple "Clean-Sweeps" (taken first chair on all three saxes) during these events, as well as placed in the top 3. My teaching style can best be described as encouraging, patient and goal-oriented. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I believe everyone deserves to enjoy music! In my lessons, you can expect to learn the fundamentals of music, basic music theory, fundamentals on your instrument/voice as well as extended techniques. My favorite thing about teaching is seeing students progress and seeing students joy for music! I primarily teach Woodwinds, but I can also teach Voice pedagogy. My approach as a teacher is one-on-one learning at your own pace, with demonstrations and music examples. Thanks for taking a look at my profile. If you wish to know more about me, please feel free to contact me! Hope to meet you soon!
